A Rockford woman accused in the death of her newborn child now has more time to decide whether she will enter a plea.
Tina LaMonica's attorneys requested additional time to research a possible plea agreement during a Tuesday hearing. Judge Ronald White complied, giving them their third extension. However, he said LaMonica must decide whether she will plea during her next hearing or he will set a trial date.
LaMonica is accused of doing cocaine while pregnant, which resulted in the death of her seven-day-old child. She is set to appear in court again on August 13.
