District 205 still in negotiations with several unions

While teachers and building maintenance personnel in District 205 are starting the school year off with contracts, five other bargaining units are without contracts.

The units include paraprofessionals, bus drivers, and hearing interpreters. According to School Board President Ken Scrivano, the issues with all five groups deal with pay and health insurance.

"Trying to change what we did with the teachers on the health premiums and offering a wellness plan as well," Scrivano explained of the District's process. "We're hopeful that we'll have these done before the start of the school year."

He says meetings with the bargaining groups are scheduled for next week.
