Project Facelift starts work on improving Rockford neighborhood

Over 250 volunteers from around the country are working on Salter Avenue between South Main and West State this week to better the neighborhood.

Work started Tuesday and the volunteers were joined by homeowners, renters, and members of local churches. Workers will clean up, perform exterior painting and repair, add landscaping, and put in a small playground for neighborhood children.

The goal of Project Facelift is to beautify the neighborhood in the hopes of making it a better place for Rockford residents to live.
