An Addison man appeared in court Monday to face charges of first-degree murder and aggravated domestic battery after police say he killed his wife of 11 years and stabbed his 15-year-old stepson.
Kurtis Worley is being held on $3 million bond. Assistant State's Attorney Anne Therieau claims the 33-year-old stabbed his 39-year-old wife Martha Worley in the head approximately 10 times and slashed his stepson's throat. Worley also cut his own wrists and throat during the alleged attack, which investigators say he carried out because he was angry about his wife wanting a divorce.
The 15-year-old survived, but needed surgery.
