Rockford club holds "Royal Baby" themed fundraiser for MELD

A Rockford club gets involved with the royal baby buzz in it's own way.

The University Club turned all the hype about the birth of the royal baby into a fundraiser.

The shower brunch benefits MELD.  Impersonators dressed as Queen Elizabeth, Princess Kate and Pippa were on hand for fun and pictures.

The University Club of Rockford was founded in 1911 as a club for graduates of colleges and universities. It is located at 945 North Main Street in the former home of Duncan P. Forbes. Mr. Forbes was chairman of the board of Gunite Corp. of Rockford in the 1950s.

MELD is a non-profit social service agency that guides young parents to build strong families by offering emergency shelter and housing, parenting information, life and job skills training, support, resources and prevention education.
