A national tour raising awareness for breast cancer research made a stop at FHN Memorial Hospital Thursday.
The Pink Heals Tour made its presence known with a procession of pink fire trucks down Stephenson Street Thursday morning with FHN staff lining the sidewalks. One of the trucks made a stop at the FHN Leonard C. Ferguson Cancer Center where patients, survivors, and their families visited and signed the truck.
"The awareness of breast cancer is so important, especially for ladies to make sure they get in and get their mammograms done," FHN Foundation Executive Director Terry Egan said.
The event featured speeches by Pink Heals Tour Founder Dave Graybill, FHN President and CEO Dr. Michael Perry, and Egan.
The tour will visit Rockford's SwedishAmerican Hospital from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27.
