Hononegah works to clean up flood damage

Crews are at Hononegah High School this week working to clean up extensive damage from recent flooding.

The school's mechanical facilities were damaged on Sunday, July 21, causing electrical panels to malfunction. Other items like hot water heaters and boilers may also have been damaged. Half of the school is without power and there is no air conditioning, phone service, or Internet throughout.

Crews are working to restore power but the school may not be able to receive calls, answer emails, or process paperwork until Monday, July 29. Summer school was also canceled this week, and is scheduled to resume Monday as well.

Administrators believe it may be several weeks before the school is fully functioning.
