The two teens found dead are 19-year-old Miguel Andrade of Belvidere and 17-year-old Jacqueline Flores of Harvard.

Autopsies are scheduled for Thursday afternoon.

The Harvard Police Department is currently investigating the deaths of two teenagers found in the backyard of a home near Apple Valley Road and 10th Street.

Officers responded to a disturbance in the 1000 block of Apple Valley Road just after 1:00 a.m. Thursday. A gunshot was heard and officers found a 19-year-old male and a 17-year-old female unresponsive in the backyard.

Investigation showed an altercation occurred at a nearby home, where the female was believed to be hurt. She was later found in the backyard of a neighbor's house with wounds to the head. The male was located nearby with a wound to the head. A .22 caliber revolver was located near him.

The female was pronounced dead at the scene and the male was pronounced dead later at a local hospital.

Police say the two had a prior relationship, but they are withholding their names pending family notification.
