River tubers in Illinois celebrate a victory.
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources officially decides to drop its requirement that forced people using a tube on rivers to pay a $6 fee. We told you Tuesday the agency was reconsidering the rule. DNR submitted the change to lawmakers. While that goes through the legislative process, the agency will tell conservation police officers not to enforce the tubing fee.
Thousands of people complained to the DNR when the fee went into effect.
