In an attempt to cut down on service calls and keep emergency resources more available to residents, the Janesville Police Department is going after chronic alcohol abusers.
The department has developed a "No Serve" list, which has been distributed to local businesses licensed to sell alcohol. The lists consists of people who have been involved in three or more service calls involving their consumption of alcohol over a six-month period.
The list will be updated every six months and each person on the list was notified prior to the list's release. Individuals on the list can go before the Alcohol License Advisory Committee to contest their inclusion.
The Janesville Police Department says one person has thanked them for trying to help them, and one person has requested a hearing before the committee.
