A Dundee man is in custody after fleeing from deputies in Kane and DeKalb counties at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.
Kane County officials contacted DeKalb deputies just before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday to report a man driving a motorcycle who fled from an officer at a high rate of speed. The motorcycle was found by DeKalb Sheriff Deputies on Plank Road, east of Route 23, but the police say the driver fled once more, again at speeds of 100 miles per hour.
After running the red light at Route 23 and Plank Road, police say the driver, 20-year-old Cory Volberding, continued south on North Main going 70 miles per hour and passing cars on the right.
Citizens pointed deputies toward Volberding's location at South Main Street in Sycamore where he was taken into custody. He faces the following charges:
