UPDATED: 9,000 people without power after overnight storms


Severe Monday night storms produce wide spread power outages.

According to ComEd Spokesman Paul Callighan around 9,000 people in Rockford, Winnebago, and Boone County are without power. Due to the intense storm many wires are down and caution is advised.

Right now there is no estimated time of when the power will be back. Residents are warned to be careful around electric lines, and to always assume they are live.

Callighan says if you wish to report a wire or power line down to please call 1-800-Edison-1. You can also check out www.comed.com to find out more information about your area's power outage.
