Rucinski Throws Gem in Rockford Win

Washington, Penn. -

Drew Rucinski struck out ten batters in a complete-game win as the Rockford Aviators, presented by Pearson, beat the Washington Wild Things on the road by a score of 5-1.

 Both teams scored a run in the first and the game remained tied until top of the fourth, when Rockford got a run via a Greg Van Horn RBI bases-loaded walk to Rockford up 2-1 after four.
The Aviators added two more int he seventh inning, thanks to a Jeff Kremer two RBI single to make it a 4-1 Rockford lead. The hit by Kremer was one of three he had on the night.
Elvin Rodriguez got an infield hit to bring home Kenny Bryant in the eighth to make it 5-1 Rockford and finish the scoring.
Rucinski's complete-game was his second of the season and and is now 4-6 on the season. Washington starter Shawn Blackwell dropped to 3-5 with the loss.
