The Oregon Police Department believes it has identified the man found in the river Monday morning. However, the man's name is not yet being released pending family notification. That information is expected to be released Tuesday.

Investigators are trying to find the identity of a man who was found dead in the Rock River Monday morning.

Crews recovered the man's body at Kiwanis Park around 8:45 a.m. Monday. Oregon police have not received any reports of any missing persons and are trying to identify the man, who is described as a white male in his late 70s or 80s, with white hair. He was wearing black shoes, black pants, and black suspenders.

A gray "Jeep" baseball cap, brown wooden cane, and red flannel buttoned long-sleeved shirt were located on the bank of the river and are believed to belong to the man.

Anyone with any information on the man's identity should call the Oregon Police Department at 815-732-2162.
