Aviators Pick Up First Win Since All-Star Break

Rockford Aviators

LOVES PARK, Ill. - Brian Bistagne's 3-hit night lifted the Rockford Aviators, presented by Pearson, to a 9-5 victory over the Frontier Greys on Saturday night in front of a large crowd at Aviators Stadium. The win forces a decisive third game in the series, which opens the second half of the season.
Bistagne's biggest blow came in the fourth inning on his first home run of the season, a three-run shot that hit the left field foul pole and ricocheted back toward the infield.
Nick Anderson hurled 5.1 innings for Rockford in the win, his third of the year. He allowed only two earned runs and struck out three Greys.
The Aviators plated two unearned runs in the first inning, a third run in the second and three in the fourth on Bistagne's homer to take a 6-0 lead. The Greys cut the lead to 6-3 after five and a half innings, but Rockford struck back for two runs in the bottom of the sixth on Jeff Kremer's RBI single. They pushed the lead to 9-3 in the seventh on Edgar Corcino's RBI double. The Greys managed two runs in the eighth off of Matt Frahm, but couldn't score any further.
Rockford will send RHP Derrick Stultz (0-2, 5.63) to the hill against RHP Casey Delgado (0-3, 4.00) in tomorrow's rubber match. First pitch is set for 5:05 p.m.
