Volunteers work to beautify Rockford neighborhood

Over 250 volunteers from around the country will descend on a Rockford neighborhood in an attempt to make it a more beautiful place.

Volunteers with Project Facelift will work on Salter Avenue between South Main and West Street. Projects include cleanup work, exterior painting and repair, and general area beautification. A small playground will also be installed with the help of Kids Around the World.

Work will be carried out between July 30 and August 1. Volunteers familiar with landscaping are wanted. To participate, call 815-967-4034.
