Two Rockford Housing Authority residents will sell original jewelry and art at this week's Rockford City Market.
The Rockford Area Arts Council is giving its booth to Juanita Hughes and Marion Weston July 19 as part of a program to promote and advance the talent of some Ellis Heights residents.
"I am excited by the community's show of support and belief in our artists! They have worked hard, attended classes (Creating the Creative Business) conducted by Pam Schallhorn and been part of our Etsy events and training. This is a unique effort, but one I firmly believe will provide great opportunity for Juanita, Marion and many others," RHA CEO Ron Clewer said. "I am very thankful for the outpouring of support."
Hughes will sell original jewelry for both men and women while Weston will have drawings and cartoon art.
The Rockford City Market runs from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Water Street.
