Aviation Week kicks off at RFD


Aviation enthusiasts will descend on the Chicago Rockford International Airport this week to get a closer look at some of the last century's most influential aircraft.

Aviation Week started Friday and runs through July 27. Attendees can go on mission flights, ground and cockpit tours, and see various aircraft from World War II and the Korean War.

The schedule is as follows:

  • July 19-21: B-17G Flying Fortress
  • July 22-24: Boeing B-29 Superfortress bomber
  • July 26-27: Largest gathering of Bonanza aircraft in the world
