Preliminary autopsy shows Wisconsin toddler died of hyperthermia

BALSAM LAKE, WI (WREX) — A preliminary autopsy has been performed on the two-year-old Wisconsin boy found in the trunk of a car outside his home.

According to the results, Isaiah Theis was healthy, had no life threatening traumatic injuries or natural diseases, and no fractures were identified. The probable cause of death has been determined to be hyperthermia.

The manner of Theis' death is under investigation. He was reported missing Tuesday afternoon after playing with his brother in his home. His body was found in the trunk of a nearby car the next night.
