Man Injured in Belvidere Car Fire

BELVIDERE (WREX) -

A late night car fire sends one man to the hospital.

Last night around 10:30 p.m. the Boone County Sheriff's Department and Belvidere Police responded to a car fire in Belvidere off Route 20 near Belmont Country Club.

A young male driver got stuck in a ditch down an unmarked road off of Route 20. When he went to back up, his car burst into flames.

The driver was rushed to Saint Anthony Medical Center. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
