BALSAM LAKE, WI (WREX) — A law enforcement agent located the body of a missing Wisconsin two-year-old just after 10:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Isaiah Theis disappeared Tuesday evening after playing with his brother inside his home near Centuria. Hundreds of volunteers assisted police in the search for Isaiah, which covered the fields and woods surrounding the family's home.

Theis' body was located in the trunk of a locked car near his home. Officers were told the vehicle had been locked prior to the toddler's disappearance, but when the car's owner tried to move it from the scene around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday night, a sheriff's deputy opened the trunk and found Isaiah's body.

The cause of Isaiah's death is unknown and a full autopsy has been requested.
