Blackhawks Re-Sign Two IceHogs


The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have agreed to terms with forward Kyle Beach on a one-year contract.

Beach, 23, registered 26 points (16G, 10A) in 66 regular-season games with the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs in 2012-13 and paced the club with a career-high 204 penalty minutes. The North Vancouver, British Columbia, native has tallied 72 points (37G, 35A) in 162 career games with the IceHogs from 2008 to 2013. He has recorded three goals in five career Calder Cup Playoff games.

Beach was originally selected by Chicago in the first round, 11th overall, of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

The Rockford IceHogs, of the American Hockey League and proud affiliate of the 2013 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks, have agreed to terms with veteran forward Wade Brookbank on an AHL contract for the 2013-14 season.

Brookbank, 35, appeared in 28 games for the IceHogs in 2012-13, tallying an assist and racking up 100 penalty minutes. In 101 career games with Rockford, the Lanigan, Saskatchewan native has registered eight points (3g-5a) and 287 PIMs.

The 2013-14 campaign marks Brookbank's 17th professional season, including four with the IceHogs. The 35-year-old forward has skated in 127 career National Hockey League contests with the Nashville Predators, Vancouver Canucks, Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes. Brookbank has also logged a total of 424 career games in the AHL with Grand Rapids, Binghamton, Milwaukee, Manitoba, Providence, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Albany and Norfolk.
