Janesville police have two men in custody after shots were fired in the 2900 block of Blackbridge Road around 2:00 a.m.
Officers received the first complaint just before 2:00 a.m. and once on the scene, heard a second instance of gunfire, which police determined originated at 2917 Blackbridge Road. Officers established a perimeter and attempted to make phone contact, but were unsuccessful. The residents of the home exited around 2:56 a.m. after verbal challenges were made by police.
The home was immediately checked for injured persons and additional suspects and two children were found sleeping in their beds. A search warrant was executed just before 5:30 a.m., during which shell casings were found outside the home and an AK-47 assault rifle and a .45 caliber handgun were seized. According to the investigation, the shots fired came from the handgun.
No one was injured, but 27-year-old Andre L. Dozer and 23-year-old Nathan A. Meehan-Hill were taken into custody. Dozer has been charged with Recklessly Endangering Safety by use of a Dangerous Weapon and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Meehan-Hill has been charged with Recklessly Endangering Safety by use of a Dangerous Weapon and is on a probation hold.
