Governor Pat Quinn is in the lead when it comes to raising campaign funds for the March primary.
Five other people have thrown their hat into the ring for governor, but when it comes to fundraising, none have yet come close to Quinn. The current governor raised $1 million between April and June, bringing his total available campaign funds to $2.3 million.
In Quinn's own party, Chicago Democrat and former White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley has raised over $796,000. In the Republican party, Bruce Rauner of Winnetka has raised $916,000, but has $642,000 after campaign expenses.
Other Republicans in the race trail behind. State treasurer Dan Rutherford of Chenoa has $433,000, State Senator Bill Brady of Bloomington has $61,000 and State Senator Kirk Dillard of Hinsdale has $293,000.
