3 children injured in Stephenson County crash


A total of five people, including three children, were taken to area hospitals after a two-car collision on Saturday night.

Police responded to Baileyville Road just north of Lamm Road around 9:15 p.m. Investigation showed a Nissan Sentra was going north on Baileyville Road when it  crossed the center line and hit a Buick Park Avenue going south.

The driver of the Buick was taken to Rockford Memorial Hospital. The driver and three passengers of the Nissan were initially taken to FHN before being flown to Rockford Memorial. The three passengers are the children of the Nissan's driver. One is 11 and two are eight. One of the eight-year-olds was later transferred to UW Hospital in Madison.

The driver of the Nissan, 30-year-old Kevin L. Hille, has been cited for DUI and Improper Lane Usage. Additional charges are possible.
