ROCKFORD (WREX) -

Rockford Police have arrested a woman in connection with the robbery of the Fifth Third Bank in the 3900 block of West Riverside Boulevard.

A 5'2" black female in her mid-twenties and weighing about 220 pounds entered the bank around 11:00 a.m. Friday, displayed a note demanding cash, and left with the money.

A follow up investigation led to 22-year-old Janae L. Jordan of Rockford being charged with Aggravated Robbery. She was arrested around 1:30 a.m. on July 15 during a traffic stop in the Criminal Justice Center parking lot.

Rockford has seen several robberies over the last week. A partially disguised female entered the Blackhawk Bank in the 3100 block of 11th Street around 11:45 a.m. Sunday. She left the bank immediately after seeing an off-duty officer in uniform.

Just two hours later the Currency Exchange in the 1000 block of 1st Avenue experienced an attempted robbery. A suspect approached an employee and displayed a note demanding money. However, the suspect left without any cash.

About 15 minutes later, a suspect got away with cash from the Alpine Bank inside the Schnuck's Grocery Store in the 2600 block of Charles Street.

Anyone with any information on these incidents should call Rockford Police at 815-987-5824 or CrimeStoppers at 815-963-7867.

Jordan has only been charged in the Fifth Third robbery. A photograph of her is not being officially released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
