COLUMBUS, OH (WREX) — Hundreds of new charges have been filed against the man accused of kidnapping three Cleveland women and keeping them captive for a decade.

A 977-count indictment was filed against Ariel Castro on Friday and included charges of aggravated murder, kidnapping, and rape. Castro faces murder charges after accusations he punched and murdered one of the women until she miscarried.

Castro allegedly kidnapped and held Amanda Berry, Michelle Knight, and Gina DeJesus captive for a decade before Berry was able to escape earlier this year with help from a neighbor.

The 53-year-old pleaded not guilty to an earlier indictment of 329 charges.
