Rockford police announce results of July 4 enforcement

The Rockford Police Department took part in a statewide effort to step up patrols over the Fourth of July holiday.

The patrols focused on seat belt violations and drunk drivers in an attempt to make the streets safer for motorists. The following arrests and citations were made:

  • Seat belts - 2
  • Uninsured motor vehicles - 2
  • Suspended driver - 1
  • Illegal transportation of alcohol - 1
  • Other traffic - 5
  • Warrants served - 3

The extra patrols were funded by an Illinois Department of Transportation grant.
