A flood of recent murders and shootings in Rockford prompts one anti-crime group to push for neighbor involvement.
The Concerned Citizens of Rockford works together with hopes of developing ideas to help decrease crime in the area. This week of violence has upped their urgency in calling on neighbors and city residents to do more than just stand by and talk about what's happened. It wants them to become part of the solution.
"The police are a very important factor but the citizens of Rockford gotta be more aware of this and they gotta listen up because this is a serious problem and it's gonna get worse," said group founder James Novak.
Novak says he hopes to build a network of people interested in the missing of keeping crime down. For more information on the group, Click Here.
