Newly appointed Auburn principal takes job in another state

After verbally accepting the job and being approved by the Rockford School Board, Auburn's principal has taken a job out of state just a week after his contract was supposed to begin.

Jammie Poole Jr. verbally accepted the post as principal of Auburn High School in June and the board approved the position on June 25. His contract was set to start July 1, but District 205 says it was notified of Poole's decision to take a job in another state on July 8.

The district says it is considering several candidates to take the position and will fill the open spot as soon as possible.
