Alaska plane crash kills 10


SOLDOTNA, AK: Ten people are dead after a plane crash at the Soldotna Airport in Alaska.

The National Transportation Safety Board says the pilot and nine passengers were killed. The NTSB says the plane was a de Havilland Otter Air Taxi.

Authorities say the plane was fully engulfed in flames before firefighters could reach the site. Initial reports say the crash happened as the plane was taking off. There is now word on what caused the crash.

Victims have not yet been identified. Soldotna is about 150 miles south of Anchorage.
