Rockton police officer arrested for domestic battery & DUI

Posted: Updated:

A Rockford area man is behind bars after a domestic battery call overnight. He's not only a police officer, he's stationed at a high school.

According to Rockton Police Chief Stephen Dickson, Officer Dean Williams has been with that police department for 15 years. He patrols at Hononegah High School. Loves Park police arrested him for domestic battery and driving under the influence. Dickson says, Williams wasn't working, he's actually on vacation. As of Friday afternoon, Williams is still in the Winnebago County Jail. Loves Park P.D. is handling the investigation, but Chief Dickson says Rockton P.D. will take its own administrative steps and look into the case.

We tried contacting Loves Park police and Hononegah High School for a comment, no one has returned our calls. Information will be updated as it is received.
