RPS bus drivers wanted

Rockford Public Schools are looking for bus drivers for the upcoming school year.

If you don't have your Commercial Driver's License and would like to get one, you can take a class July 15th.  The school district's transportation department hopes to get 30 applicants to attend.  Some of the qualifications include being at least 21 years old, and you can't have two major moving violations on your record.

RPS Transportation Director, Gregg Wilson says it's a good job for a housewife, mother or father with kids in school.

"It's a good job to be at when you're kids are in school but then you're off when they're off.  We also find that we have incredible health benefits with the position."

Drug and alcohol testing and background checks are done before CDL training.
