Illinois State Police plan patrols in work zones

Posted:
WINNEBAGO COUNTY (WREX) -

Speeding through construction zones could cost you.

Illinois State Police District 16 will be keeping a closer eye out for people who do that.  Special work zone safety enforcement patrols will be conducted on Interstate 90 from Rockton Road to the Wisconsin state line.  These patrols are worked in and around construction zones and are designed to promote a safer atmosphere for the workers, as well as other people on the road. Officers will concentrate efforts on people speeding, as well as drivers who don't follow "Scott's Law".  That's when people don't move over or slow down for emergency or stationary vehicles.

A ticket will cost you. The minimum fine is $375.
