Aviators Sweep Doubleheader


The Rockford Aviators, presented by Pearson, swept the twinbill against Joliet Thursday night at Aviators Stadium by scores of 4-2 and 2-0.  

Nick Anderson and Seafth Howe were both sensational on the mound. Anderson allowed one earned run in five innings in game one. Howe sent the first 14 batters of the game down in order before allowing a hit to Kyle Maunus in the fifth inning. Howe also surrendered a bunt single, but didn't walk anybody, in his six scoreless frames.
Jeff Kremer and Kenny Bryant both had RBI base knocks in game one, while Tyler Smith's 2-run single produced the only offensive output of the second game. Nick Cicio colected two saves on the night to give him six for the season.
The Aviators won their second series of the season with the sweep of Joliet on Thursday night. They will open a 3-game series with the Normal CornBelters on Friday night at 7:05 p.m.
