The Winnebago County Health Department's Black Male Health Community Action Team hosted the 10th Annual Black Male Health Celebration at Klehm Arboretum on Tuesday.
The event recognizes National Men's Health Month and serves as an opportunity to promote prevention services for local men. Illinois Department of Public Health Director Dr. LaMar Hasbrouck served as the keynote speaker.
The luncheon raised money for future health screening events. The Black Male Health program was created in 2001 to address the significant health disparities that exist between African American males in Winnebago County and the general population.
