2500 people turn out for The Biggest Loser Race in Rockford

Large crowds of runners, walkers and supporters gathered in Downtown Rockford Saturday morning for the first ever Biggest Loser 5K/15K in Rockford.

Around 2500 participants registered for the event which brought former The Biggest Loser contestant and successful recording artist, Dan Evans, and his mom, Jackie, also a former contestant, to town for the race.

Light rain didn't hold anyone back as runners crossed the finish line one by one.

The Biggest Loser RunWalk is a non-intimidating race series designed to challenge America to get fit.

13 News Anchor Eric Wilson and wife, Marla got the race started in Rockford and say it was a big success.
