Rock Valley to host truck driver safety seminar and job fair


Rock Valley College will host a truck driver safety seminar and job fair on June 19 for local companies, current truck drivers, current truck driver training students, and anyone wishing to learn more about the career.

The theme of the event is safety and numerous guest speakers, including Terry Montalbano with the Illinois Secretary of State, Jim Solomon with the National Safety Council, and Trooper Timothy Roush with the Illinois State Police, are expected to attend.

Local trucking companies like Swift, Star, Maverick, and more, will be on hand to recruit drivers and trucking vendors like Maggio Towing, PeterBuilt, and Lawrence National Lease will also be there.

The event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on June 19 at the Woodward Technology Center on Rock Valley's main campus, 3301 North Mulford Road. Door prizes and truck parking will be available.
