With temperatures expected to hit the mid-80s Wednesday, Wonderland Books & Toys at Edgebrook had a great way to cool off and support cancer research.
The store hosted a lemonade stand from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, with all proceeds going to Alex's Lemonade Stand. The organization was started by four-year-old cancer patient Alex Scott, who wanted to raise money to help other children with cancer. Scott died in 2004 at the age of eight. So far, the organization has raised over $60 million for cancer research.
Wonderland raised $150 for cancer research during the event. You can learn more about Alex's Lemonade Stand at AlexsLemonade.org.
