The 2013-14 campaign will be Mills' seventh in the pro ranks. The center spent his first six years with the New Jersey Devils organization, appearing in 31 career contests with the Devils. Mills has also skated in 285 career AHL tilts between Lowell, Albany and Rockford, totaling 46g-60a-106pts.

Before turning pro, Mills attended Yale University and in four years at the Ivy League school, he suited up and played in 96 games, accumulating 26g-35a-61pts.

Mills is the third player to sign an AHL contract with Rockford for the 2013-14 season, joining rookie forward Pat Mullane and defenseman Viktor Svedberg.
