Employee changes at Rosecrance, SwedishAmerican

The new partnership between Rosecrance and SwedishAmerican Health System continues with some changes for employees.

Rosecrance purchased SwedishAmerican's Behavioral Health Clinic. The BHR counselors and clients were placed in Aspen Counseling for Rosecrance. The transition into Rosecrance took about a month.

On Sunday, Rosecrance took over management of SwedishAmerican's psychiatric unit which means the director of the unit, 16 Swedish American therapists and two physicians are all managed through the Rosecrance director but are still employed by SwedishAmerican. The nursing staff remain employed by Swedish-American but managed through the Rosecrance director.

As for SwedishAmerican psychiatric patients, they're still being admitted into the SwedishAmerican system.

Rosecrance Chief Operating Officer David Gomel said another goal of the partnership is for more efficient emergency department operations.
