To try and get our 10,000 steps in, Aaron, Greg, and I headed to Ingersoll Golf Course. It was quite an adventure. Aside from some friendly competition and bad drives off the tee, we had a great time walking the course. We caught up with one golfer who says he gets his steps in on the course for some good old fashioned exercise.
"I have type two diabetes so I need all the exercise I can get," says Kirk Pinnow, who plays every week. "I don't only workout in the morning, but on Thursdays we have our golf league."
We carried our bags for the most part, but Pinnow says there's another, less strenuous option too, while still walking.
"I don't carry my clubs," he says. "I have a nice cart that I use, and so it really helps you. If you carry your clubs it can be kind of overbearing for you, but if you just want to get out and get exercise and walk, you can get a nice push cart."
Unfortunately I didn't play as well as would've liked. But it's the beginning of the season. All in all we had a great time!
Keep stepping! We have our final physical with the Swedish American doctors on Wednesday, so tune in Friday to see our results after the 10,000 step challenge is complete!
