NIU's executive vice president for finance and chief of operations is retiring after an FBI probe into police records concerning a housing development he owned.

Eddie Williams took a leave of absence on March 8, but will retire on May 31. He will be replaced by Dr. Steven Cunningham, who took over Williams' duties during his leave of absence.

Williams has been with NIU for 43 years, starting as an assistant mathematics professor in 1970.
