In the wake of Monday's devastating tornado in Moore, Oklahoma, people around the country are looking for ways to help the victims affected.

The Salvation Army is currently providing food, drinks, and support to survivors and first responders in Moore and South Oklahoma City. You can donate to their efforts by visiting www.SalvationArmyUSA.org or by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY (1-800-725-2769). You can also text STORM to 80888 to make a $10 donation through your cellphone.

Donations can help in the following ways:

  • $10 - feeds a survivor for one day
  • $30 - provides one food box with staple foods for a family of four, or one household cleanup kit with brooms, mops, buckets, and other supplies
  • $100 - serves snacks and drinks for 125 survivors and emergency personnel
  • $250 - provides one hot meal to 100 people or keeps a hydration station operational for 24 hours
  • $500 - keeps a Salvation army mobile feeding unit fully operational for a day

The American Red Cross is also providing relief to victims through shelters, food, supplies, and support. You can donated to their efforts at www.redcross.org, or by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or texting REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
