Guns, ammunition, and cannabis seized from Dixon residence

A 32-year-old Dixon man is in custody after police seized multiple guns, ammunition, and cannabis from his residence.

Police searched a residence in the 500 block of South Lincoln Avenue just after 5:00 p.m. on May 20. Nine firearms, firearm ammunition, and cannabis sativa plants were recovered. Multiple "homemade" silencers were affixed to several weapons and police also found numerous "homemade" Flechette shells made to fire multiple fin stabilized dart-type projectiles from a 12 gauge shotgun round.

Jeramie J. Burmeister was arrested as a result of the investigation. He faces the following charges:

  • Unlawful Use of Weapons (2 counts)
  • Unlawful Use of Firearm Projectiles (2 counts)
  • Possession of Firearm without Requisite Owner's Identification Card
  • Possession of Firearm Ammunition without Requisite Owner's Identification Card
  • Possession of Cannabis Sativa Plant

The Dixon Police Department teamed up with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Whiteside County Sheriff's Department for the investigation.
