Hospital plans for severe weather

Posted:
ROCKFORD (WREX) -

Across the area, it's not only important for you to be ready when severe weather hits. It's also important for other places, like hospitals.

Systems of codes allow personnel to keep track of the latest weather. Then as weather gets worse, patients are moved away from windows and if necessary, generators are used to provide electricity for medical equipment.

Officials at Swedish American Hospital said they have direct lines to the fire department also, if assistance is needed.
