Schnucks is already in the process of changing the name of all local Hilander and Logli stores, and now the chain is continuing the changes with the closure of the Schnucks Pharmacy inside the Rural Street store.
The pharmacy will close at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4 and the staff will be relocated. Pharmacy customers can transfer their prescriptions to one of the seven other Schnucks pharmacies, including the one on Charles Street.
"We apologize for any inconvenience this will cause our Rural customers, but it goes hand in hand with plans for improving our overall pharmacy services," Schnucks Vice President of Pharmacy Mike Juergensmeyer said. "With the larger Rockford Plaza pharmacy so close by, the Rural pharmacy was not serving enough grocery customers."
Rural customers will be can arrange to transfer prescriptions by bringing prescriptions in to area Schnucks pharmacies, or they can transfer them online at www.schnucks.com/pharmacy/transfer. Any prescriptions not transferred by June 4 will be closed and automatically moved to the Charles Street (Rockford Plaza) pharmacy.
