Rockford Police to host academies with assisting agencies

Rockford Police announce they will partner with area agencies to sponsor the Youth and Junior Police Academies again this year.

This was made possible by a $7,750 grant from the Community Needs Fund of the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois and a $2,000 grant from the Rockford Park District.

The academies are for any youth interested in learning about police work or how to help your neighborhood out.  They're designed to show students more about law enforcement.

Youth Police Academy Dates and Locations:

Session 1

June 24-28, Kennedy Middle School from 1-8pm

Session 2

July 8-12, Patriot's Gateway Center from 1-8pm

Junior Police Academy Dates and Locations:

Session 1

June 10-14, Second Congregational United Church from 10am-4pm

Session 2

August 5-9, Heartland Community Church from 10am-4pm
