The co-pilot of US Airways flight 1549 that was forced to make an emergency landing on the Hudson River in 2009 will make an appearance at the Poplar Grove Airport.
Jeff Skiles will help celebrate the grand opening of the local Experimental Aircraft Association's Aviation Resource Center on Sunday, May 19. Skiles will make a presentation at 10:00 a.m. and a fly-in/drive-in pancake breakfast will be held from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Kids will also get a chance to take an introductory plane ride and go up in a hot air balloon.
The event will be held at the Poplar Grove Airport, 11619 Illinois 76, in Poplar Grove.
