South Beloit man robbed at knife-point in Rockton

A 32-year-old South Beloit man was trying to change a flat tire when he says he was robbed at knifepoint by three white males.

The man was stopped on Highway 2 near the Old River Road Bridge around 10:30 a.m. Friday morning. He said a red car that looked like a Geo Metro stopped and the inhabitants offered to help him. The man said three white males, described as teenagers, approached him and one put a knife to his neck and demanded money.

The victim complied as another suspect went through his car. The victim was then pushed down the embankment and punched in the face. He received injuries from the punch and fall, but refused treatment.

The three suspects then fled north in the red vehicle. The suspect armed with the knife is described as having long dark brown hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt featuring a heavy metal band.

Anyone with any information on this incident is asked to call the Rockton Police Department at 815-624-4351 or Crime Stoppers at 815-963-7867.
